What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe in God’s unconditional love and grace for ALL people. We affirm the dignity and worth of EVERY person as created by God.

We recognize and celebrate all loving and committed personal relationships. We believe discrimination in any form is incompatible with Christ’s Gospel.

In this spirit, the United Methodist Church of Babylon, New York, welcomes EVERYONE, including people of every race, ethnicity, national origin, culture, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, mental and physical ability, faith history, family structure, marital status, educational background, and economic status into full participation in the life, fellowship, leadership, ministry, rituals and sacraments of our church.

All are accepted and welcomed, connecting the needs of people to the presence of God, and transforming the world through Christ.

We see strong leaders who develop vital congregations that eagerly make new disciples, actively nurture existing disciples, and passionately advocate for the needs and concerns of all people.

  • Deep love for God & unconditional love for all people.
  • Collaboration and partnerships demonstrate God’s love for a world that divides and alienates.
  • Relationships that foster accountability, excellence, and an ability to engage in hopeful, honest, and respectful conversations.
  • The hope we have in Christ that, when discovered, brings us a unity of purpose, a joy that enlivens our spirit, a peace that surpasses all understanding.
