What We Believe

What We Believe

We are dedicated women, men and children all here to seek God, follow Jesus Christ, celebrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit and serve our neighbor.

We believe in God’s unconditional love and grace for ALL people. We affirm the dignity and worth of EVERY person as created by God.

We recognize and celebrate all loving and committed personal relationships. We believe that discrimination in any form is incompatible with Christ’s Gospel.

In this spirit, the United Methodist Church of Babylon, New York, welcomes EVERYONE — including people of every race, ethnicity and national origin, culture, age, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, mental and physical ability, faith history, family structure, marital status, educational background and economic status — into full participation in the life, fellowship, leadership, ministry, rituals and sacraments of our church.

OUR MISSION:
All are accepted and welcomed, connecting the needs of people to the presence of God, and transforming the world through Christ.

OUR VISION:
We see strong leaders who develop vital congregations that eagerly make new disciples, actively nurture existing disciples, and passionately advocate for the needs and concerns of all people.

OUR CORE VALUES:
• Deep love for God
& unconditional love for all people.

• Collaboration and partnerships that demonstrate God’s love to a world that divides and alienates.

• Relationships that foster accountability, excellence, and an ability to engage in hope, honest, and respectful conversations.

• The hope that we have in Christ that, when discovered, brings us a unity of purpose, a joy that enlivens our spirit, a peace that surpasses all understanding.
